Weekend Callouts 07/04/18

Callout, Powerscourt, Co Wicklow 07/04/18
 
At 13:58 on Saturday, April 7th, Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to an incident near Powerscourt, Co. Wicklow.
 
The incident involved a female runner who fell and sustained a shoulder injury. Mountain rescue (MR) personnel accessed the incident site from Djouce Woods, and then assessed and treated the patient. Pain relief was administered and she was evacuated by stretcher to an MR vehicle, and then transported to a waiting ambulance.
 
We’d like to thank HSE National Ambulance Service for their assistance. The incident was stood down at 15:58hrs.
 
While this callout was ongoing two team members came across a hypothermic cyclist in Laragh, who was wet and shaking severely. They assisted in getting the cyclist warmed and waited with him until a friend came to give him a lift home.
 
Callout Bray Head, Wicklow 08/04/2018
 
At 13:13hrs on Sunday 8th April, 2018, The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a woman who had lost consciousness while walking up Bray Head.
 
MR (Mountain Rescue) personnel located the party using SARLOC and an MR medic was on the scene within 35minutes, shortly followed by two advanced paramedics (HSE & MR). The woman’s condition was assessed and it was decided to stretcher her down to the car park where she was transferred to a waiting HSE ambulance. The incident was stood down at 15:12hrs.
