Call Out 17: Glenmacnass Rescue 09/04/16
At approximately 15.20hrs on Saturday the 9th of April both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to come to the assistance of a female Hillwalker who had suffered an arm injury while out walking with a group.
The Hillwalking group were near the Glenmacnass River when the incident occurred. Due to poor mobile reception in the area MR personnel were not able to get the groups exact location. Rescue Base was set up at Glenmacnass car park and a hill party were sent in to sweep along the Glenmacnass river from a point known as the sheep pens. Soon the hill party came in contact with the walking group and the injured woman. The woman was brought from this point to a waiting 4×4 which transported her back to Rescue Base. She was then treated by an MR medic before being transported to hospital by her companions, for further care
Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved including: Search And Rescue Dog Association (S.A.R.D.A) who were on standby
