Callout Rathdangan, Baltinglass, Wicklow 05/05/2018
At 07:30hrs on Saturday 05th May 2018 The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána (AGS) to assist them in the search for a missing mountain biker.
The man had gone for a cycle on forest tracks near Rathdangan on Friday evening and had failed to return. At 2am he was reported missing to AGS. They located his car in the morning, parked at a forestry entrance. The Glen of Imaal MRT, Dublin Wicklow MRT, South East MRT, Search and Rescue Dogs Association, and the Civil Defence were all tasked to assist in the search. Regretfully the search ended when the mans’ body was discovered in the late morning. The incident was stood down at 12:52hrs.
