Fairy Castle Rescue 30/11/14
At approximately 12.15 on Sunday, November 30th both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to assist a man who had collapsed near Fairy Castle in the Dublin Mountains.
Dublin Fire Brigade, who were also responding, sent a fire-tender and ambulance to Three Rock Mountain to provide care to the unconscious man and were soon assisted by Mountain Rescue personnel.
The man had been out walking when he had collapsed and was
initially helped by those with him and by other walkers.
The Coast Guard helicopter was also tasked however due to poor
visibility the casualty was evacuated by stretcher-carry to the waiting
DFB ambulance for transport to hospital.
Wicklow Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved including: Dublin Fire Birgade and Irish Coast Guard.
