Spinc Rescue 30/07/14
- On Wednesday the 30th of July at approx 14.40hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by the HSE when a man in his 50’s who was on holiday’s from the Netherlands fell and suffered lower leg lacerations as well as lacerations to his head. The incident happened on the Spinc as he was stepping off to give room to an oncoming group. The man was advised to remain where he was by MR personnel who were in communication by mobile phone.
- Shortly afterwards an MR hill party reached him and began to treat his injuries.
- Rescue 116 was also tasked and once they had placed the man in their stretcher they airlifted him onto the helicoptor and transported him to hospital for definitive care.
