Inchavore River Search 13/11/14

• On Thursday the 13/11/14 at approx 4.00pm both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by Irish Coast Guard to assist in the search for a missing Kayaker. The man was part of a group of 4 who had been paddling on the Inchavore River which bflows into Lough Dan. A second group of 3 Kayakers came to their assistance. Mountain Rescue Swiftwater Responders from both teams were called in, however the missing Kayaker was recovered before any action was needed. Rescue 116 winched the missing man and two other Kayakers from the scene to Tallaght Hospital for further care. The rest of the group were brought to Glen Team Rescue Base for medical assessment.
