Glenealo Rescue 13/11/14

  • On Thursday 13/11/14 at approx 12.50pm both The Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochana to come to the assistance of a French Hill Walker who had become cut off from the path he was on due to rising flood water near the bridge in the Glenealo Valley leaving him stranded on what had become a small island. MR Swiftwater Responders arrived on scene. As plans were made to extract the man the flood waters receded and it was possible to walk him out on foot. He was then transported to the Glen Team Rescue Base in Laragh where he was made feel comfortable before returning to his accommodation.
  • Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved including Wicklow Mountains National Park Staff.
