Call Out 42 Cloghoge Rescue 15/08/15

On Saturday the 15th of August at approximately 15.25hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to come to the aid of a hill walker who had been injured while out with friends

The group had descended from Luggala Mountain and were crossing the Cloghoge Brook when the man fell and suffered a lower leg injury. At this point the group called for help. Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 116 was also tasked. Two members of MR were airlifted onto 116 and along with the winchman were lowered to the scene. Once the injured hillwalker was treated he was airlifted onto the helicopter with MR personnel remaining on the ground to secure the highline. Rescue 116  then transported him to hospital for definitive care.

Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved including: HSE Ambulance Service, Irish Coast Guard and An Garda Siochanna
