Today, Thursday 2nd December 2010, mountain rescue teams are called for another injured person seeking medical attention from their own home.
The lady in her 50’s slipped on ice and suffered a lower leg injury. Living in the townland of Ballard on the slopes of Trooperstown mtn, she has been completely snow-bound for several days.
The evacuation began at 4pm and is ongoing, with the Mountain Rescue vehicles transporting the injured party to Rathdrum and awaiting ambulance.
Glen of Imaal Red Cross MRT and Dublin/Wicklow MRT are the two teams that operate in the area and attended the scene.
