Man rescued from lug (09/05/09)
Earlier this afternoon, the Army Range Warden service contacted the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team to requst their assistance with an injured walker near the summit rocks on Lungnaquillia. The man had been walking with 2 others on the Camara Hill route to Lugnaquillia and suffered a leg injury. The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team, along with neighburing Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team quickly dispatched teams to the area. Mountain Rescue requested the assistance of the Coastgaurd and the injured man was subsequently airlifted and transported to Tallaght Hospital for further treatment.
The teams would like to thank all agencies involved in this successful search and rescue operation.
