Callout 6: Glendalough 27/01/2018
At 15:19hrs on Saturday 27th January 2018, The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist an experienced hill walker with a suspected broken leg.
One of our team members was out walking in the Glendalough area when she came across a man descending to the miner’s village with difficulty. She assessed the man’s injury and called for additional back up. MR personnel from both teams easily walked in to the causality site, where the walkers leg was splinted. He was stretchered down to the miner’s village, where he was further assessed by an MR Doctor and transported to hospital for definitive care by his friend. The incident was stood down at 16:55hrs
