Call Out 14: Glendalough Search 25/2/17

On Saturday 25th of February, the Glen of Imaal Irish Red Cross Mountain
Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An
Garda Síochána to search the Upper Lake area of Glendalough for a missing
person.

Starting at 08:30hrs Mountain Rescue (MR) parties began searches of the lake
and surrounding areas. They were subsequently joined by the Garda Water
Unit and Howth Coast Guard Unit.
Garda divers recovered the person’s body from the water in the early afternoon.
Gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious and believe that it was the result of an accident. The search was stood down at 15:10 hrs.

The Glen of Imaal Irish Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team would like to extend

Mountain rescue would like to thank all agencies involved, including An Garda
Síochána, the Garda Water Unit, the National Parks and Wildlife Service and
the Irish Coast Guard.
