Call Out 6: Bray Head Rescue 29/1/17

At 11:59hrs on Sunday, January 29th, An Garda Síochána tasked The Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team to an incident on Bray Head. A man, in his eighties, fell while walking and sustained a laceration to his head.

A member of the public lead mountain rescue (MR) personnel to the man’s location, where they treated his injury. The man was assessed by an MR doctor before being escorted a short distance to a vehicle. He was then transferred to a waiting ambulance and brought to hospital for further care. Irish Coast Guard Rescue 117 was on standby during the incident, but it was decided to transport the injured man to hospital by ambulance.

MR would like to thank Greystones and Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard units who assisted at the incident site by preparing a helicopter landing zone. Thanks also to Irish Coast Guard Rescue 117 and the HSE National Ambulance Service. The incident was stood down at 13:44hrs.
