Call Out 4: Camara Hill Rescue15/1/17

At approximately 2:00pm on Sunday 15th of January, while the previous incident was still ongoing, An Garda Síochána tasked The Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team to come to the assistance of a family on Camara Hill in the Glen of Imaal area.
The father, mother and two young children had become disorientated when low cloud had descended whilst they were out walking. It had also begun to rain heavily and continued to do so throughout the incident. Unable to locate their position they dialled Emergency Services. Using Sarloc technology their position was established. Given the proximity of the Army artillery range to their position and the danger of unexploded ordinance in the range they were advised by mobile phone to return to the summit of the hill where they were met by a party of mountain rescue (MR) personnel. They were then escorted downhill and back to their car. The incident was stood down at 16:00hrs.

Mountain rescue would like to thank Óglaigh na hÉireann Defence Forces Ireland for their assistance.
