Call Out 13: Poulanass Rescue 28/03/16

At approximately 13.09hrs on Monday the 28th of March both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to come to the assistance of a walker in difficulty. The call for help, via mobile phone was received by staff of the national Parks and Wildlife Service but because the mobile coverage was of poor quality it was uncertain as where the walker was.

MR personnel drove up the Glenmacnass Valley to investigate the area and when they concluded that there was no one in difficulty at that location they went to investigate the area around Poulanass Waterfall. Confirmation followed that this was the location while they were en route and it was not long before the MR 4×4 came across a man experiencing breathing difficulties. He was placed in the 4×4 and bought down to a waiting ambulance to be examined. Once satisfied the man was now in better health he was released from care.

Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved including: The HSE Ambulance Service.
