At approximately 12.30hrs on Sunday the 6th of September members of Mountain Rescue came to the assistance of a 16yr old Italian girl who was part of a youth group visiting Glendalough.

The girl had become unwell and one of her group ran to where MR personnel were providing first aid cover for an event in the area. MR personnel responded quickly treating and providing care for the girl until a HSE Ambulance arrived. She was then stretchered to the waiting ambulance before being transported to hospital for definitive care.
