Call out 1: Scarr Rescue 7/1/17
At approximately midday on Saturday, January 7th, The Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a male hillwalker. The man was walking with a group near the summit of Scarr when he took ill.
The group’s position was established using Sarloc technology, before mountain rescue (MR) personnel were deployed to the hill. The man was medically assessed, and it was decided that he could walk off the hill with assistance. The hillwalker was then escorted to safety by MR personnel, and was transferred to an ambulance. The incident was stood down at 14:00hrs.
