Call Out 28: Glendalough Rescue 20/05/16

At approximately 14:46hrs on Friday, May 20th, both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to assist a 13-year-old girl who sustained a lower leg injury in Glendalough. The girl, who wa part of a large school group, was walking on the Spinc boardwalk when the incident occurred. Two teachers stayed with the girl while the rest of the group continued on their hike. Mountain Rescue personnel located the incident site, treated the girl for her injury, and transported her by stretcher to a waiting ambulance. The incident was stood down at 16:10hrs.

Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved, including: HSE National Ambulance Service; and Irish Coast Guard Rescue 116, who were on standby for the incident.
