Callout 57, Glendalough 07/07/18

Callout – 7th July 2018 – Glendalough

At 17:46 on Saturday, July 7th, The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a climber who was suffering from heat exhaustion in Glendalough.

A member of the party called emergency services when, whilst descending towards the Miner’s Village, the climber began to feel unwell. Mountain rescue (MR) personnel located the party and assessed the patient. After giving fluids, and following a period of cooling and observation, the patient walked off the hill, accompanied by MR personnel. The incident was stood down at 19:50hrs
