Call Out 24: Lugnaquilla Search 07/05/16
At approximately 12.33hrs on Saturday the 7th of May both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to come to the aid of 3 Hillwalkers who had become disoriented while descending from the summit of Lugnaquilla.
The walkers informed MR personnel via mobile phone that they could see a lake from their position. Two hill parties were sent in to find them. One party went to Kelly’s Lough and the second to Art’s Lough. The party that arrived at Kelly’s Lough met the disoriented Hillwalkers and brought them back down the mountain to safety. The operation was then stood down.
