At approximately 01.35hrs on Saturday the 12th of March both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to assist in the search for a person in the vicinity of the Vartry reservoir when concern was raised for his welfare. Greystones Coast Guard and Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue 116 as well as the Garda Air Support Unit also assisted in the search. Gardai were successful in locating the person who was safe and well. The operation was then stood down.
