Reek Sunday 25/07/15

 
Members of the Glen Team joined with other Mountain Rescue Teams around Ireland in travelling to Croagh Patrick to assist in providing cover on Reek Sunday. Despite the event being officially cancelled the Mountain was still busy on the day. The Glen Team were teamed with  Kerry MRT, North West MRT and I.C.R.O ( Irish Cave Rescue Organisation ) They began their shift at 3.00am as they made their way up onto the Mountain

The team were tasked to assist one causality, a 14 year old girl suffering from hypothermia due to poor weather conditions high up on the cone section. She was assessed by an MR medic and  placed in a stretcher to be brought down to the medical tent at the halfway point. From this point she was then stretchered down to Rescue Base where she was transported to hospital by Ambulance for further care. The team remained on stand by at Rescue Base until they were stood down at 9.00am when other teams came in for the second shift.
