Call Out 18 Glendalough Rescue

At approximately 12.45hrs on Wednesday, May 13th both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were called on by Wicklow Mountains National Park Staff to come to the aid of a teenage boy who had suffered a lower leg injury while out walking with a youth group on the Spinc.

The incident happened as the group were moving on steps below one of the viewing platforms. Members of Mountain Rescue who were in the area were able to arrive on scene soon after they had been alerted. They first treated the teenager before assisting him down to where he could be handed over to a waiting HSE Ambulance. He was then transported to hospital for further care.
