Croagh Patrick Pilgrimage Walk
- Seven of our Team members made the journey to Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo this weekend to assist in the biggest annual Mountain Rescue “Event ” in Ireland. Our Colleagues in Mayo Mountain Rescue coordinate the rescue response for the annual Croagh Patrick pilgrimmage walk, and rescue team members from across all the other 12 teams in the country send some team members and equipment to assist on the Mountain. The Glen Team are always happy to assist Mayo Mountain Rescue Team.The event is especially useful in allowing us to meet up and work alongside other Mountain Rescue Ireland Teams and emergency services, this is helpful in knowledge sharing and training. The Glen team members on the hill directly dealt with 4 casualties all suffering from minor injuries resulting from trips and falls, and assisted in stretchering off a casualty off after she suffered from low blood pressure.
- However the rest of us weren’t left twiddling our thumbs…it was another busy weekend in terms of response but thankfully nothing of any great note and no serious injuries.
