Glendalough 29/09/13 (Two Separate Incidents)

  • On Sunday the 29/09/13 at 16.56hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team, once tasked by An Garda Siochana, came to the aid of two hill walkers in two separate incidents in Glendalough. In the first incident a 68yr old male out walking with a group sustained a lower leg injury on the blue route. Wicklow Mountains National Park Staff were able to drive close to the scene and bring the injured walker down to safety.
  • In the second incident a 58yr old male out walking with a group also sustained a lower leg injury. Mountain Rescue stretchered him from the Glenealo Bridge to the Miners Village where he was brought to a waiting HSE Ambulance.
