10 year old girl rescued in Glendalough (24/02/08)

Shortly before 2pm Sunday 24th February, Gardaí in Wicklow requested the services of the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team to rescue a 10 year old girl from The Spink Mountain in Glendalough.

The 10 year old from Donabate was out walking with her scout group when, having turned to talk to a friend, she tripped and fell, injuring her knee.

The brave girl was stretcher-carried to an awaiting ERHA Ambulance before being whisked away to Tallaght Hospital. Her mother, who was volunteering with the group for the day accompanied her to the hospital.

Thank you to all personnel involved in this successful rescue.
