Call Out 62: Tinahely Rescue 22/11/15

Members of Mountain Rescue did not have much time to rest after the huge success of last nights Moonlight Challenge. It was straight back to business for our rescue volunteers today, Sunday the 22nd of November when at approximately 15.51hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to assist in the extraction of a woman who had suffered a lower leg injury after being kicked by a horse near Tinahely, in an area known as Curravanish.

A HSE ambulance crew who were first on scene had treated the woman for her injuries and had requested Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 116 to airlift her from the scene. Mountain Rescue assisted by helping to stretcher her to a better position and and also to control the highline on the helicopter so as both winchman and causality could be lifted onto Rescue 116 safely.

Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved including: HSE Ambulance Service and Irish Coast Guard
