Operation Hurdle 2015 Launched at Glen Base

An Garda Siochana requested the use of Glen Base for two separate events today. The first being the Commissioner’s regional meeting which took place in our Operations Room.

Once this meeting came to an end the press launch for Operation Hurdle 2015 took place. Present were Assistant Commissioner Fintan Fanning, Chief Superintendent Pat Mangan and Superintendent Paul Hogan. Guests included local TDs Andrew Doyle and Simon Harris and representatives from Wicklow Christmas Tree Growers, N.P.W.S, Coillte, Wicklow Uplands Council, W.S.P.C.A, local businesses and members of The Glen Team.

The Garda Mounted Unit, Garda Air Support Unit and Garda Armed Response Unit were also present and gave talks on the capabilities of each of these units.

The day was a resounding success with all parties extremely impressed with the facilities at Glen Base and the team were delighted to accommodate An Garda Siochana’s request for the use of our base for these events.

We would also like to thank Lynhams of Laragh who did an excellent job of providing all catering needs on the daygarda jeep and landy
