At approximately 12.27hrs on Thursday the 27th of October both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to come to the assistance of a teenage girl who had suffered a lower leg injury while on the Spinc with a youth group.
At approximately 13.50hrs on Sunday the 23rd of October both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were requested by the National Parks and Wildlife Staff to come to the assistance of a teenage boy who had suffered a lower leg injury while descending Camaderry with a youth group.
Mountain Rescue personnel treated him on scene before placing him in an MR 4×4 stretcher capable vehicle. He was then transported to a waiting HSE Ambulance which brought him to hospital for definitive care.

At approximately 19:30hrs on Saturday, October 22nd, both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to assist a group of walkers who became disoriented while descending from Lugnaquilla.
It was established, through communication with the group, that they were in forestry on the eastern side of Lugnaquilla. Mountain Rescue personnel in vehicles were tasked to search the forest tracks. Using vehicle lights and sirens in a coordinated manner, MR personnel were able to attract the group’s attention and they were located a short time later. The group were then transported to safety. The incident was stood down at 21:00hrs.

At aproximately 12:10hrs on Sunday, October 16th, both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to assist a female mountain biker in Ballinastoe Woods. The call came from HSE National Ambulance Service Control through An Garda Síochána.
Mountain Rescue personnel assisted NAS paramedics in treating the woman for an injury to her left shoulder. The woman was evacuated to a waiting ambulance. The incident was stood down at 13:07hrs.

Call Out 60: At approximately 13.54hrs on Tuesday the 4th of October both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to come to the assistance of a man who had become disoriented in poor visibility conditions while walking up Cloghernagh mountain, near Lugnaquilla
Mountain Rescue personnel were able to communicate with him via mobile phone. Information the man provided of his surroundings helped narrow down his location. A search party were then sent in to that point. Once the search party joined up with the man they guided him down to a waiting MR 4×4 which was able to return him to his vehicle.

At approximately 2.35am on Friday September 30th both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to search for a man who had not returned from a walk with his dogs in the Dublin mountains. MR personnel were able to locate the man and one of his dogs. Unfortunately the man was deceased.
As a result of an ongoing investigation into this incident Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the general area of Ballinascorney Hill, or Ballinascorney Road Upper between 6.30am on the 29th and 4am on the 30th of September to contact the incident room at Tallaght Garda Station on 01-666000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111

Mountain Rescue personnel responded and began searching the area around the GAA pitch. The person was located shortly before midnight; and was assessed, treated, and evacuated to a waiting ambulance. The incident was stood down at midnight.
