Call Out 57: Glenmacnass Rescue 24/09/16

 
At approximately 16:30hrs on Saturday, September 24th, both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a man near the Glenmacnass waterfall. The man had parked in the car park at the top of Glenmacnass waterfall earlier that day, and crossed the river to go for a walk. When he attempted to return to his car, he discovered that the river had become impassable due to heavy rain during the day.
 
Mountain rescue swiftwater rescue technicians responded to the scene and helped the man to safely cross the river and return to his car. The incident was then stood down.
