Call Out 32: Cliff Walk Rescue 30/05/16

At 21:04hrs, Monday 30th May, The Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to come to the aid of a 46 year old mountain biker along the cliff walk between Bray and Greystones.

The man had been cycling the route near Windgates, when a piece of wire caught in the spokes of his wheel and he was thrown head first over his bike.

The casualty was treated on scene by MR and HSE Medical personnel, then packaged and airlifted to Beaumont Hospital. He was accompanied by a HSE Advanced Paramedic and Wicklow’s Rapid Response Doctor during his transfer to hospital.

The incident was stood down at 23:17.
