The Injured man was one of a party of 3 descending from Lugnaquilla when he slipped and suffered a lower leg injury. Army personnel opened barriers on the track to facilitate quick access by Mountain Rescue. Once a hill party reached the injured man he was treated by MR Medics before being stretchered off the hill. He was then placed in a stretcher capable MR 4×4 and transported to a waiting HSE Ambulance. The Ambulance crew then brought him to hospital for definitive care.
Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved including: The Defence Forces and the HSE National Ambulance Service.
