Call Out 07: Annalecky Assist 21/02/16

At 14:30hrs on February 21st both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to come to the assistance of a scout leader near Annalecky Bridge in the Wicklow Gap. The man had been leading a hiking group when he injured his leg. As a result, he was unable to keep up with the group’s pace. The group happened to meet an off-duty garda who placed a call to task Mountain Rescue.

Mountain Rescue and the Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) had been training in the area and sent some vehicles to assist the walker. He was picked up by an MR vehicle and brought back to his own vehicle in the Wicklow Gap. The incident was stood down at 15:30hrs.
