Call Out 55: Glenmalure Incident 27/09/15

A little before 20.00hrs on Sunday, September 27th Mountain Rescue personnel were contacted directly by a member of the public who were concerned about a family member who was late reporting back safe after a walk in the Glenmalure area.

The solo walker in his seventies had managed to make a broken phone call about his delay but as further contact could not be made his son did the right thing and contacted Mountain Rescue before also making the required Emergency Call.

Members from the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were already starting to respond when contact with the delayed walker was reestablished and he was confirmed to be safely back at his car. The incident was stood down at 20.30hrs

Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved.
