At approximately 18.00hrs on Sunday the 30th of August both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to come to the assistance of a man who had become disoriented while descending from Sugarloaf Mountain. He had strayed from the path into high gorse. 

 

He managed to relocate himself shortly afterwards and MR personnel who were on their way to his location were stood down.
