Call Out 38: Spinc Rescue 30/07/15

Shortly before 3pm on Thursday the 30th of July at approximately 15.38hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochana to come to the aid of a woman who was injured while walking in the Glendalough area.

The woman had been walking the Spinc route when she slipped and suffered a laceration to her knee. Rescue Base was set up at the Information Centre near the Upper Lake and teams were sent in to assist the hiker. After  treatment by MR and HSE Medics the woman was stretchered down the Spinc to a waiting ambulance which transported her to hospital for further care. The incident was stood down just before 5pm.
