Call Out 02: Tibradden Rescue 18/01/15

On Sunday, January 18th at approximately 17:43 both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to assist a woman who had sustained a lower leg injury on Tibradden mountain.

Friends who had been out walking with the woman were trying to help her down the track as they were not too far from the road. When Mountain Rescue personnel arrived on scene it was decided that the safest way to evacuate the woman was by stretcher due to the steep gradient.

They were able to splint the injury and give the unlucky woman some pain relief before performing the short stretcher carry required to reach the waiting HSE ambulance which took the lady to hospital for further care.

Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agenceis involved including: HSE Ambulance Service.
