Glenmacnass Rescue 07/07/14

  • On Monday the 7th of July at approximately 14.10hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by an Garda Siochana to respond to an incident in which a man had slipped and fallen at Glenmacnass Waterfall. Having assessed the situation Mountain Rescue set in motion a technical rescue. The man who was a Belgian national, had not only fallen but also landed on steep ground. Once Technical personnel reached him, they took measures to secure him so as to insure he would not fall any further. It was at this point he was treated by medics from both mountain rescue and Coast Guard helicoptor Rescue 116 for injuries he had sustained during the fall.
  • Rescue 116 then airlifted him to hospital for definitive care.
      • Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved which include the Irish Coast Guard, An Garda Siochana and the HSE Ambulance Service
