Lugnaquilla Search 01/01/14
On Wed 01:01/14 at approx 15:48hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochana to assist in locating 2 female hill walkers who had strayed off track while descending Lugnaquilla. Mountain Rescue Personnel contacted the pair via mobile phone and were able to determine their location, in the Glen of Imaal Artillery Range, by the use of Sarloc. Army and Mountain Rescue Personnel made their way into the range to meet the 2 hill walkers and escort them to safety. The incident was stood down by 18:35.
