Glenmalure 15/10/13

On Tuesday the 15/10/13 at 00.10hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team where tasked by An Garda Siochana to come to the aid of two hunters who had become disorientated when visibility deteriorated on the Wicklow Mountains above Glenmalure Valley.
Realizing their situation the men raised the alarm via mobile phone and went to ground. Their phone signal proved to be weak leaving communication intermittent. Both teams formed a search plan based on the information that was available and sent search parties out onto the hill.
Using MR search management techniques, both men were eventually found and walked down to safety.
The operation was stood down at 5.53hrs
